About Chiropractic

Chiropractic is from the Greek words meaning done by hand.

Chiropractic care is a safe, natural and drug free way to relieve pain, rehabilitate injuries and improve the symptoms of a huge range of conditions. It is based on the knowledge that the nervous system controls the function of every tissue, organ and system in the body. Your Chiropractor will evaluate the relationship between the structure (primarily the spine) and function (primarily coordinated by the nervous system) of your body to determine whether it is functioning optimally.

Chiropractors assess for areas in the spine where the joints may be ‘locked’ or ‘irritating’ the nerves. If this is detected it may be corrected by an adjustment, a gentle, precise corrective force, to improve function and relieve nerve irritation.

• Reexamination $85
• Standard Consultation $72, Concession $65, Child $60
• Family $195
• Missed appointment fee $35
• Payment is required at the time of consultation
• We require 24 hours notice of any changes to your appointment so we can help other people requiring care. Missed appointment fees may apply.

Health Fund Rebates

Chiropractic is covered by all health funds with extras. The amount covered varies greatly between each fund and level of cover. For your level of cover please check with your health fund.

We have onsite HICAPS facilities so please bring your health fund card to every visit for an immediate fee rebate.

Third Party Payment

We are Veterans Affairs, Workcover and Transport Accident Commission approved providers. If you already have a claim number you do not need to see a GP to see a chiropractor for Workcover and TAC.

DVA patients require an initial referral from their GP. Medicare enhanced care program for chronic conditions is available by GP referral.[/one_half_last]

At Footscray Chiropractic Clinic we educate patients on the different types of chiropractic care: pain relief, injury management and wellness care for better living. We find out what you want from our care and respect your right to make your health care choices. Often people start to resolve pain or injury, then find an overall improvement in their health and wellbeing so choose to continue the ongoing health benefits. You could compare this to servicing a car so it is functioning well and does not break down. We will focus on the type of care you want giving you a treatment plan and strategies for you to play an active role in your health if you choose.
